It doesn't, I tested it myself. The playtime is inaccurate and doesn't count the time on certain maps. But that's not the only source of time missing that I found, but I couldn't reliably figure out what causes this. Even had one test account having more hours than actually played. Now my profile says i have This gives a 14 hour difference, and if it doesn't count maps such as cache or mirage, that would mean i spent only 14 hours in those maps; which is wrong as mirage and cache are my most played maps and i have definitely spent more that 14 hours on them. So i think it works.
Also the way playtime is calculated is based on how log you have been on valve servers and does not include any map data so what map the user was playing at that time would be irrelevant. Maybe you've just spent more time than you realised idling? I understand, there is no reason for you to trust me.

I have hours but only actually playing. Actually, csgo-stats was very buggy for me. My friend went on csgo-stats and saw that he had hours of playtime he afks a lot so he has 4k hours on his account. I did the same on my account and it said 7 hours of playtime--and I don't even afk a lot. That literallly shot up by in 2 weeks. Damnn I'm definitely gonna save this post as I'm really curious about other players. I'm not saying IQ doesn't affect how fast you reach a high rank, I'm just saying that it's not necessary, the research he's doing will show an average per rank. I've already got quite a bit of data, but i want to wait for a bit more to make the results as reliable as possible, but after i crunch the numbers will post some sort of info graphic and release the spreadsheets.

I am LE in hours but I spent definitely over hours in casual because I was totally new to this game. The more you rank up the more you realize how much you fucking suck - and that feels good. Yeaah i agree diffrence between dmg and mg is huge, the nade usage map callouts etc, i think that there is biggest gap between ranks in terms of skill and knowledge. That website isn't accurate at all.

Well I've got hours and I'm in the MG area. I think I have good game sense and awareness, but my aim is truly awful. I really blame it on poor mouse control. GO is my first PC game. I even started playing it on a laptop with a trackpad. Whether or not you are a CS veteran, most players at least have been PC gaming or even general PC usage for a decent amount of time and can "use" a mouse very well. There will also be limitations with people that upgraded their gear PC mostly and improved a lot, this survey will have too many flaws and people on this subreddit are all globals anyway ever since MM came out. Maybe some questions about 3rd party services would also help?
This could change things a bit. I would like to but i am nor familiar with ESEA and such and i want to stick to something I, and the majority, can relate to. People who have a history with this game or play at a higher level don't really take MM seriously, MM is for newer players by and large. ESEA existed before matchmaking and a lot the better players never really took it seriously when it came out.

I play MM only once or twice a month and always fuck around when doing so. Every time someone tries to do one of these surveys people either lie about their rank or pick the highest rank they've ever been pre-rank shift and not their current rank. I havn't submitted the survey yet, but does it base rank on geographic locations? I know ranks in EU vs NA tends to be very different. What if i have countless smurfs with like hours each? Should i only pick one of the hours or just add them all together so its like 3k hours. Pick your main, or if all of them are similar, just use the one with the highest rank and use the hours for that account.
